Review: Alice’s White Rabbit Rescue

RATING: 5 Keys          RESULT: Win          REMAINING: 0:26

Don’t be late in catching this white rabbit.

Story

The famous adventuress, Alice Liddell, has asked you to be in charge of house sitting while she’s away. This job entails acting on her behalf should some emergency situation arise and of course taking care of her rabbit. Hours after Alice’s departure on the midday train, you arrive to check on her house, but upon entering the parlor you discover something has gone amiss…. Can you save the day by teatime?

House sitters are left in charge of Alice’s place and most importantly, taking care of her white rabbit.  After dropping by to check in on things, it becomes immediately apparent that something is amiss. Where’s Alice’s rabbit? Frantically searching the living room, teams stumble upon a rabbit hole. This must be where that little rascal went.

After working up enough courage to venture through to the other side, adventurers find themselves in an amazing and psychedelic Wonderland. Now to search for the rabbit and safely get him back home before the Red Queen finds him first.

Scenic

Starting off in Alice’s living room, the space feels very real and lived in. There’s a chess set on a table that’s already mid-game, a cabinet on the wall filled with various books and a clock hung in the corner. There’s plenty of items that tease what lies ahead in Wonderland throughout the room.

The transition from a living room to Wonderland was done in such a wonderful and unique way that even the most worried animal activist couldn’t help but smile. Twisted Room Escapes started off as a family of haunters who turned their creativity into escape rooms and that’s shown off in spades here. It was the perfect way to let would be rabbit chasers know that they’re leaving London and entering a magical land.

Stepping into Wonderland is when the scenic gets kicked up to a whole new level. The whole space is filled with wonderful and trippy scenery. In one corner there’s a small running waterfall, giant colorful mushrooms in another and oversized flowers all over the place. It really immerses travelers in a whole new world.

Puzzles

Starting off in Alice’s house, teams have to first figure out what happened to the white rabbit. Twisted Room Escapes does something very clever with the puzzles in their first space – everything that must be solved in the living room hints towards Wonderland itself. There’s hidden playing cards and a chess puzzle among others that are all precursors of the magical land that lies ahead.

The games waiting in Wonderland itself are definitely the highlight. There’s so much to see here and almost everything needs to be interacted with in fun and exciting ways. At one point, rabbit watchers have to use the waterfall feature in a very interesting way that was a ton of fun. There is one domino type puzzle that feels a bit out of place among all the other magical games that need to be solved but it by no means distracts from the game itself.

All the games flow beautiful from one puzzle to the next. There’s a lot to do so teams of at least 4 people would be recommended.

Overall

Twisted Room Escapes is among the best venues in the Indianapolis area.  The staff is exceptional and very creative.  One very unique thing that they do is that they hide various poker chips throughout their escape games. For every chip that you’re able to find you get to spin a wheel afterwards which is filled with various prizes like water bottles, pens, shirts and other keepsakes.  This added a very fun element to an already fantastic game.

Twisted Room Escapes is definitely a venue to keep an eye on and we can’t wait to go back and check out their other games. Alice’s White Rabbit Rescue is one game that you would have to be mad as a hatter not to check out.
