Rookie FBI agents have been called upon to investigate a suspicious murder at a local amusement park.

As newbies in the F.B.I. you’ve made one too many mistakes. The director was ready to let you go, but he received a call about a murder at the iconic Mystery Gates Theme Park. With the departments A-team unavailable, he decided he would offer you an all-or-nothing case to prove yourself worthy. The challenge: solve the murder at Mystery Gates in 60 minutes, fail and you are out of the department for good!

Will you earn your badge or leave the matters of the case unidentified?

Upon arriving at the entertainment complex, investigators must carefully follow posted procedures to trace the footsteps of the assassin through the grounds of Mystery Gates and uncover the hidden truth about the heinous crime. This urgent assignment represents the final opportunity to salvage the team’s tarnished reputation at the Bureau, as the director has made it entirely clear that failing to bring the culprit to justice means a permanent dismissal from the department.

Gaining access to the evidence locker will hopefully provide the necessary intel to determine the shrouded identity of the perpetrator and prove the worth of the department’s underdogs. Unlocking this restricted vault is the only way to piece together the victim’s final moments before the killer slips away into the shadows of the abandoned venue for good.

Unidentified is set entirely within a theme park, so what better way to start off the fieldwork than to take a quick trip in a roller coaster car? The feds find themselves not only fully immersed in the whimsical interactive environment, but also diving deep into character, complete with an official FBI Special Agent badge, a sleek black jacket, and a walkie-talkie. 

Uniformed operatives take off exploring the layout of Mystery Gates, surveying its vibrant surroundings. After exiting the ride vehicle, the path to the right leads to a number of heavy-duty breaker boxes that control various fairground utilities, while the path to the left leads to a ticket booth that sits near a master map of the attractions. Three midway game booths lie just beyond a weathered metal fence, promising prizes to skilled players. Pennant-shaped garland hangs overhead, helping to shape the festive backdrop and contrasting with the underlying tension of the investigation.

Around the corner, a classic concession stand advertises popcorn, nachos, cotton candy, and other delicious treats. A check-in podium with a password-protected computer is perched next to the entrance to the mysterious funhouse. Daring to step inside the structure reveals a shallow ball pit and a small slide that leads directly into a secret room where missing persons posters are plastered frantically on the walls, complete with a taunting message scribbled on top. A grainy feed of security camera footage plays on a loop on the television screen dangling from the ceiling. Is there proof in this room that will reveal the true face of the suspect?

The game’s puzzles flow coherently and logically due to their procedural nature, making the overall difficulty level highly accessible to beginners and seasoned veterans alike. The thematic clue system involves using the FBI-issued walkie-talkie to communicate with dispatch for hints, maintaining the illusion seamlessly.

Part of the immersion of this environment involves playing – and ultimately winning – all three “rigged” carnival games. Agents may want to strategically select those who are most qualified to play each game so as not to waste precious time on these attractions. 

Several challenges require cooperation and careful attention to detail. While there are some traditional combination locks in the game, many of the tasks involve physical manipulation of objects that are well aligned to the storyworld and serve to propel the narrative.

While The Escape Warehouse is known for its intense thriller and horror experiences, Unidentified is a family-friendly adventure that is appropriate for sleuths of all ages. The interactive nature of this experience does involve tasks that rightfully receive an eight out of ten on the physical scale on the venue’s website. Agents should be fully aware before accepting this operation that they may be asked to climb vertically, crawl, throw objects, and slide, though not every rookie has to participate in each of these challenging activities.

Please take note: Mystery Gates Theme Park will sadly be permanently closing its doors soon to make room for a new game at The Escape Warehouse. Federal operatives have until August 30, 2026 to secure their briefing materials for this game before Unidentified is forced into the archives forever!
