Breaking out of jail; escaping a killer; life or death scenarios that create pulse pounding races against the clock – but sometimes the best fun is just having fun. Comedy Themed escape games are becoming more and more common, and the best of them will leave guests laughing until their sides hurt far more than any serial killer could cause with an hour of torture.

With a title so long it quite literally falls off the side of its attraction poster, it should come as no surprise that guests who set sail with Captain Spoopy Bones on his Magnificent Quest for Some Other Pirate’s Treasure have charted a course for a very different kind of swashbuckling adventure. In fact, there’s just no other pirate-themed game out there like this one. Doldrick’s Escape Room created something so goofy and so stupid that it instantly becomes one of the rare instances that those words become glowing compliments. Trapped in the brig of a ship in the command of a very plastic skeleton, Captain Spoopy Bones and the Magnificent Quest for Some Other Pirates Treasure is full of jokes, surprises and yes, red herrings (and for once, we loved finding them!) It’s a uniquely comedic story from start to finish – but don’t worry – it won’t take long to tell; bout’a hour, maybe less.

Cartman’s Escape Room

It should come as no surprise that any escape game company who is given the chance to partner with Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the comedic geniuses behind the long-running TV series, South Park, are simply bound to win a Best Comedy Theme award. Without a doubt, the most memorable and enjoyable aspect of Cartman’s Escape Room is its irreverent sense of humor from start to finish. Credited directly to Parker and Stone themselves, this experience plays out much more like a “lost episode” of South Park than just another escape room – full of inside nods, easter eggs and not so subtle winks sure to make fans of the show laugh out loud on more than one occasion. And while we don’t want to spoil any of the game’s best punchlines, we will simply confirm that yes, they did, and yes, they are bastards.

Miss Jezebel’s Tea Party

Despite aiming to keep each individual category’s winners unique, Miss Jezebel Tea Party made things really hard for us. With no dispute that one would be hard pressed to find any game more deserving of the Most Immersive honors, it’s also impossible to forget that, simply put, in all the games we’ve ever played, none has made us laugh this much. Every single time we’ve played it. 60out has crafted an experience that breaks all the rules and is openly unapologetic in the process. What results is an experience unlike any other – full of adults-only raw, uncut comedy that will have you full on cry-laughing, all while screaming for more. When it comes to Comedy Theme games, nobody has a bigger one than 60out with Miss Jezebel’s Tea Party.

With more than 1,000 games played across the site, being picked as one of the best three in the country is a well-earned honor to truly be proud of!
With so many deserving games worthy of recognition, our goal is to ensure these Keys To Greatness awards are attainable to all – not just those with blockbuster budgets that might be otherwise out of reach. As such, it’s important to note that we have, as much as possible, limited games to winning a single category – but every game will still be qualified to win the coveted Keys to Greatness – Best Game award, as well as the Keys to Greatness – Remote Play awards.
*Although the games I’ve personally designed are consistently very highly rated by both enthusiasts and newer players alike, I cannot in good conscience nominate an attraction I created. As such, those games and the venues that call them home have been intentionally omitted from consideration for any Keys To Greatness award.
